This oil painting, done in a primitive style reminiscent of Fauvism, captures the interaction of two horses in a mating ritual. One horse is nipping the other’s back in this piece of art, while his mouth is poised to nip her chest. The blurred nature of the trees in the background draws full attention to the horses’ actions, and the artist has added puffs of dust around the horses’ hooves to show their playful movements.
