The theme of this painting is the epic Ramayana- the saga of the brave and righteous prince Rama, who is banished to the forest with his beloved wife Seeta and devoted brother Lakshmana. The noble and pure minded couple live in happiness and peace in their forest abode served untiringly by Lakshmana.
