Description

This canvas depicts a awe inspiring mountain scene, captured at the first blush of dawn's fiery arrival. This vibrant oil painting draws from the tradition of abstract expressionism, but also depicts a readily readable scene. The mountains are painted so that you can see all of the brushstrokes, but the sage in the foreground is painted in a much smoother way. With this contrast, the figure comes across as very grounded in this piece of art, while the mountains seem much less substantial—as if they’re made only of light.
