The way the mountains rise out of the clouds in this oil painting is just beautiful. The artist created an especially effective contrast between the sharpness of the mountains and the wispy nature of the clouds in this piece of art. The shadows on the mountains look solid and strong, while the shadows in the clouds almost look like they're in motion.
