I grew up on the Amazon River in Peru where my parents were missionaries. It was an adventurous storybook life for an active and imaginative boy. I enjoyed exploring the large sandbars that formed each low water season. I did this painting while I was still in High School from a slide someone took of me sitting on a driftwood tree sticking up out of the muddy sand. In my minds eye I still can see the trees that were scattered around on that "playa." The original is not for sale but prints are available.
