Description

A beautiful little fishing village Harne on the Western coast of India. The small red-roofed houses on the hillock overlooking the sea, the waves crushing against the rocks at the bottom of the hillock created an interesting composition in this particular seascape. Hence I have combined the use of knife to create waves whereas I have used brush for the rest of the painting which is mostly done using pointillism technique.

This charming oil painting uses an interesting type of pointillism approach. Where most pointillists seek to make each dot of paint small enough to blend in with the dots around it, this piece of art emphasizes its technique by using larger dots. The effect gives a slight unreality to the scene, and a highly playful tone.
