The centerpiece of this piece of art is clearly the eye, but the surrounding elements are what give it its meaning, although these elements are surrealistic and ambiguous. The artist notes a positive message to this art, but at the same time there is something disturbing about the imagery--the forearm appears to be made of a tree limb or other natural object, but the fingers are clearly human and are grasping. The cracked industrial-looking element in the lower right hand corner looks threatening. It's a fascinating painting to contemplate.
