As long as I can remember I have been able to make marks that accurately represent what I was seeing. As a child I found it really easy but it took some time to allow a sense of freedom in my painting. Now, as an adult, I paint for pleasure and release.

I prefer oils as they give a sense of fluidity which I like. These painting are on wooden board because I like the addition of it’s unique texture and how it softens the oils.
It is more important for me to represent an emotion rather than get bogged down by detail. Texture, mood and flow please me. The human body has so many sensuous lines and is very emotive, which makes it a perfect vehicle to represent feelings.
I hope my paintings will give you as much pleasure as they gave me creating them.
